” Working on a smaller scale creates a delicate space where I can intimately reflect the fleeting moments of my environment. The softness and pastel hues color palette express the ephemeral quality that these miniature treasures hold. “
I often perceive my environment as a swirling entity, with each element in a particular space holding significance. I’m drawn to the objectiveness of these elements, whether it’s a ripple in the water or a fallen twig in the woods. I embrace the idea of being interconnected with my surroundings rather than separate from them.
I’ve been interested in transforming a slab of wood into a multidimensional work of art. Wood, with its versatility and solidity, provides an ideal canvas for my work. I enjoy placing a variety of wood types, colors and thicknesses on top of each other and forming layers on the side profile. Carving organic shapes into the wood contains my images, creating a precious space for my objects to live.
